Book Review 3

The lady in the lake

The man in front of me was tall and strong, with thick dark hair. He sat in an expensive chair behind an expensive desk, and looked at me with cold grey eyes. (p,5)

I read "The lady in the lake" today. It story about a murder. Philip Marlow who is the private detective is looking for the wife of Derace Kingsley. I borrowed this book because I attracted to the title of it. There were so many characters that I could not remember, so I read them by writing thir names on paper. It was very complicated, but it was very refreshing when I could understand. This book was like watching a "Detective Conan". It is a highly recommended book for those who like suspence stories. The story filmed in 1947 and in 2017, Haruki Murakami who is the very famous novelist in Japan published a translated book. I am interested in them so I would like to see if I have time.

Wilma and Biff saw a notice. It was about a go-kart race. William had an idea. She told Biff about it. Biff and Wilma were excited. They told Mum about the race. "We need a go-kart,"said Biff. "What about the old one?" Mum went to the shed. She found the old go-kart, but it was broken and rusty. "Oh no!" said Biff. Biff told Dad about the race. Dad looked at the old go-kart. "This one is broken," he said. "But we can make a new one."

BOOK REVIEW

Chocolate

Most people live the tste of chocolate. Some enjoy sweet milk chocolate and others prefer strong dark chocolate. (p.1)

It's story about chocolate. Chocolate is ate by many people in the world and makes us happy. Of course, I love chocolate and often eat them.
Also, threre were stories aboout " Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" in this book. This is one of my favorite movie and I watched many times. Then, there were stories about "Van Houten's Cocoa". I drunk it just day when I read this book so I think there are deep relationship between people and chocolate. We usualy don't notice the fact but some people do hard work to make chocolate so we should thank to them.

Alcatraz Island first became an important prison in 1907. At this time, it was only a prison for soldiers. Then, in the 1930s, the U.S. goverment needed a place for the most dangerous people in the country-people from wild cities like Chicago or New York. They thought nobody would be able to escape from the island of Alcatraz.

Essay #1

I was born on June 9,1998 in Amakusa, and it is the starting point for my journey. The road that I have walked for 20 years was not smooth because there were a lot of things that didn’t go well.

When I was a junior high school student, I was member of the handball club. The team I belonged to had a tough coach, and I and my team members endured hard practices for victory. I was doing well in my own way but I often scolded by the coach and I wasn’t satisfied what she said. I thought that I wanted to quit many times and I didn’t understand the meaning of having such a hard practice. However, I love the members of the team and I loved to play handball so I was able to continue to the end after all. I gained confidence that I could endure hardships, and I think I got patience. Also, the coach was strict about manners so I think that I was able to learn a lot of things through this experience. I think that this experience greatly influenced me.

I faced such difficulties, but my life is boring because it was often as I expected. However it means that I didn’t try to do something that are difficult to achieve, and I did everything within my ability. Also, I have relied on my parents and friends for a lot of things so I think that I couldn’t make my own map. I think it is important to make my own judgement, make my own way and walk by myself. There are a lot of challenges that test my courage and patience so I want to think by myself and make my own way. If I can achieve that, I gain confidence in myself and I think that it will lead me a full life as journey.
