Book Review 5

Bad Love

I met Dr. Jack Daly in August. It was a Saturday afternoon. I was at a party in Denver at my friend Judy Kaplan's house. (p.6)

My frank opinion that I read this book is that it was an ugly love story. The main charactor of this book is a police officer woman. She meets an attractive male doctor at a party. The man also has a good imression on her and exchanges contacts. Then one time he invite her to date but a few days after making that promise, the imformation that he has died comes into her police station. She is very shocked, but she is working as a police officer, so she begins her incestigation. his body looks as if he has committed suicide but she never thinks he did so and she investigate thoroughly. Several suspects were up, but it was her best friend that was the culprit in the end. She was consulting with her best friend about having met him, and that she was his girlfriend. Besides being attractive, he seems to have killed him with envy knowing that he is giving out his hands to various women. The story ends with the fact that she has a complex feeling that he has died and has to arrest a close friend. I think that the title of this book, bad love, was perfect for this book.

Book Review 3

The lady in the lake

The man in front of me was tall and strong, with thick dark hair. He sat in an expensive chair behind an expensive desk, and looked at me with cold grey eyes. (p,5)

I read "The lady in the lake" today. It story about a murder. Philip Marlow who is the private detective is looking for the wife of Derace Kingsley. I borrowed this book because I attracted to the title of it. There were so many characters that I could not remember, so I read them by writing thir names on paper. It was very complicated, but it was very refreshing when I could understand. This book was like watching a "Detective Conan". It is a highly recommended book for those who like suspence stories. The story filmed in 1947 and in 2017, Haruki Murakami who is the very famous novelist in Japan published a translated book. I am interested in them so I would like to see if I have time.
